Let's say the results of the Backblaze data transfer test at Is Backblaze Fast Enough For You? is typical. Or continued with the upload during the free trial period and bailed before it was over if the actual speed was as glacial as predicted. Since the amount of time estimated for you seems absurd to me, I would have contacted Backblaze support to see what they have to say about it. If I remember correctly, the estimate prior to seeding my data was a lot longer than what it actually took to complete the upload.
I suspect that there was something incorrect about my situation that was preventing a faster upload, but I kinda lost interest before I figured what the problem might have been. While it is indeed an archive, there's the idea of having a computer tied up continually uploading for 6 months was a deal killer for me
This on a base spec 2015 iMac with 32gb of RAM and a 400mb/sec internet connection. When I started the upload, and I believe it was around 14 tb at the time, their software gave me an estimate of how long it would require and it was something on the order of 6 months. I had intended to use it and actually opened an account.
There's some variable in uploading large amounts of data to Backblaze that I don't have a handle on. Based on my experience with Backblaze, I think that uploading 20TB won't take weeks and weeks.
